Tour Details
Day 1:
On arrival at O.R. Tambo (Johannesburg) International Airport, you will be met and assisted with the collection of the rental car and furnished with detailed maps and directions. From Johannesburg, journey along the N1 highway to Pretoria for the first night's accommodation, a distance of just under 70 km.
The lodge is situated on the shores of a lake. Stay in beautiful suites with ethnic themes. Activities include open-vehicle game safaris, walking safaris, birding and a visit to the Ndebele Cultural Village where you can experience the culture and colorful crafts of the Ndebele People.

Days 2 to 3:
Enter the province 'of the rising sun', Mpumalanga. While driving through the scenery, you will be awe-struck by the natural splendor of Mpumalanga. Your hotel is perfectly situated in the picturesque Sabie Valley, in the heart the Panorama area, nearby various scenic attractions. It is also an ideal place from where you can venture out on beautiful hiking trails as well as mountain bike trails.
A beautiful route to explore is the Panorama Route, which takes you past magnificent waterfalls, God's Window from which you can enjoy fantastic views, Bourke's Luck Potholes and the Blyde River Canyon. A visit to the restored gold miners village Pilgrims Rest is not to be missed. The entire town of Pilgrims Rest was born during the exciting days of the gold rush is now a national monument.
Accommodation for the next two nights is in The Floreat Riverside Lodge on the edge of the town Sabie where you will stay in elegantly appointed rooms with modern comforts.

Days 4 to 5:
The Kruger National Park is the flagship of South Africa's game reserves. It is best known for the 'Big Five' (Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino) but is also home to a huge variety of other game and birds. Due to its variety of ecosystems, the Park boasts a great diversity of vegetation. The Park has a network of well-maintained roads that enables you to go on safari in your own car.
For the next two nights you will overnight in Skukuzan, the main camp of the Kruger National Park, where you will find a variety of facilities such as a restaurant, shop, medical facilities, post office and banks. Around the camp is a great variety of birdlife and the 'Big Five' may be spotted during your stay.
At the Skukuza offices, you can book a night game drive, which commences during the twilight hours of the day and last for approx. 3 hours; alternatively you can book an early morning guided game drive, a real rewarding experience. The more adventurous traveler might want to go on a guided bushwalk. The ultimate safari experience!

Day 6:
While enjoying your wonderful safari in the Kruger National Park, drive southwards towards your destination for the night, the Berg-en-Dal restcamp on the banks of the Matjulu Spruit in the south western corner of the Kruger National Park.
This camp is situated in a ruggedly beautiful mountainous terrain which does not only offer great game-viewing & bird watching activities but also contains rock art paintings of the Bushmen (San) people who once lived and hunted in this area.
Once again, you will have the opportunity to go on guided game drives and hikes. Berg-en-Dal also has a wilderness trail that you can explore on your own.

Days 7 to 8:
A final game drive will take you out of the Kruger National Park and your journey continues to the Kingdom of Swaziland, the last traditional kingdom in Africa. The countryside is beautiful and diverse, ranging from magnificent mountains and waterfalls to lush valleys and bushveld.
Your hotel, Foresters Arms, is situated in the beautiful Swaziland Highlands, a short scenic drive from the capital Mbabane. From here you can explore the many attractions of this majestic Kingdom.
Enjoy scenic drives, visit the Swazi markets and craft shops or visit the Mantenga Cultural Village. Some of the activities at the hotel include horse riding, tennis, swimming, fishing, and a well-equipped gymnasium or enjoy a delicious picnic at a nearby waterfall.
Stay in tastefully decorated rooms overlooking the colorful gardens and surrounding countryside.

Days 9 to 10:
A scenic drive will take you further southwards to the Kingdom of the Zulus, KwaZulu Natal. KwaZulu Natal is one of the smallest provinces in South Africa and is known for its untamed wilderness, beautiful beaches and lush subtropical vegetation.
Your destination today is the prestigious Ubizane Wildlife Reserve in Zululand near the famous Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve. The Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve is the oldest sanctuary in South Africa and famous for its wide variety of bird and animal life, especially the black and white rhino. Here you will find the Big Five and many other well-known bush species.
Accommodation is in African Style Rondavels with breathtaking views of the Ubizane Game Reserve. Guests can relax at the swimming pool or enjoy beauty treatments. Enjoy guided safaris in open safari vehicles in the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve or a guided walk in the early morning or late afternoon, which always proofs to be very rewarding. The Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve boasts two self-guided auto trails. An excellent range of birds can be seen while enjoying a boat cruise on the Hluhluwe Dam. These trips are conducted by an experienced community guide who will also introduce you to the Zulu culture.
Overnight at the Zululand Safari Lodge on a Bed & Breakfast basis.

Days 11 to 12:
Continue your journey towards the spectacular Dolphin Coast. This area is a sub-tropical paradise with large sugar cane fields, unspoiled lagoons and beautiful beaches.
For the last two nights, you will stay at a lovely guesthouse that is nestled in the rolling hills where you can enjoy absolute tranquility. Relax at the swimming pool in the indigenous garden and enjoy an abundant birdlife or explore the area on a mountain bike. The guesthouse is nearby several championship golf courses, beaches, nature reserves and only 45 minutes away from Durban. Stay in luxury suites with private patios.

Day 13:
The last day of this wonderful trip. Return the rental car to the rental agency at Durban International Airport where you board your homebound plane or from where you will continue your onward travels.
