A short drive from Sabie, just off the beautiful Panorama Route, is the old mining village Pilgrims Rest where you will experience a wonderful stay for tonight.
This entire town was born during the exciting days of the gold rush and is now a national monument. During the late 1800s scores of prospectors came from all over the country in the hope of finding their fortune here. It was the richest gold mining area of that time and Pilgrims Rest was born, serving as the social and commercial focal point for the diggers.
The residents of the area are still involved in the tradition of gold panning and you may want to try your hand at it yourself!
Overnight at the Royal Hotel Pilgrim's Rest, a beautifully renovated building, furnished in the old Victorian Style.

The Kruger National Park is the flagship of South Africa's game reserves. It is best known for the 'Big Five' (Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino) but is home to a huge variety of game and birds. Due to its variety of ecosystems, the Park boasts a great diversity of vegetation. The Kruger National Park has a network of well-maintained roads, which enables you to go on safari in your own car.

Here you are sure to spot hippopotamus, crocodiles in the Olifants River as well as elephants crossing the river.
Because the area around Olifants Camp boasts two very distinctive types of vegetation, a wide range of game and an abundant birdlife lives in here.
