Orpen is a peaceful little camp situated at the Orpen Gate in the Kruger National Park. Animals to look out for in this area are lion, black-backed jackal, blue wildebeest, white-backed vulture and lesser black-winged plover. A large variety of game may be sighted at the waterhole just outside the camp.

DIRECTIONS TO KRUGER NATIONAL PARK - ORPEN
From Johannesburg, take the N12 towards Witbank. Just before Witbank the N12 joins the N4. Continue on the N4 to Belfast. Exit the N4 at the Belfast intersection.
Enter Belfast town and turn right at the second stop in the direction of Dullstroom (R540).
Continue to Lydenburg via Dullstroom.
In Lydenburg turn left and take the R36 to Ohrighstad.
Continue in the direction of Hoedspruit via the Abel Erasmus Pass and the JG Strijdom Tunnel.
Shortly after crossing the Blyde River turn right in the direction of Orpen (R531).
Continue a short distance past the Klaserie turn-off to the Orpen Gate signpost.
At the Orpen gate, you can purchase a map of the Kruger National Park. Follow the marking on the map as well as the markings on the side of the road to Orpen Camp.
