but it can trace its ancestry to the beginning of the 20th century.

leading luxury train.
Your suite

All suites are equipped with telephone, television monitor and
individually controlled air-conditioning. A video channel
allows you to view short documentaries about the area through
which the train is travelling.

Deluxe accommodation gives you a choice of a twin-beds suite with shower
or a double-bed suite with a three-quarter size bath.

Luxury accommodation offers a choice of twin-beds or double bed, and a
full size bath with hand shower. Luxury suites are also equipped with CD
players and video machines.
Lounges
The Blue Train's Club lounge is the perfect place to relax with after-dinner
cognacs, coffees or cigars. This is the only designated smoking area on the train.
The opulent Main lounge has a warm and elegant ambiance with large windows
allowing panoramic views of the passing countryside. High tea is also served in the afternoon.
Cuisine
The Blue Train chefs offer a choice of entrees, soups, fish,
meat dishes, desserts, coffee and cheese platters. Typically,
South African cuisine includes Karoo lamb, kabeljou, Knysna
oysters, snoek, crayfish and impala. The wine list has
received the coveted Diners Club Award of Approval.
