Elephant Plains is situated within the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, part of the 2,2 million hectare Greater Kruger National Park. Come face to face with Africas Big Five and you may be lucky enough to encounter other rarer species such as the endangered wild dogs and cheetah.

Tour Details

Day 1:

Fly from Atlanta, JFK or Washington Airport to Johannesburg, South Africa.

Day 2:

On arrival at Johannesburg International Airport, you will continue your trip with a domestic flight to Hoedspruit. At Hoedspruit Airport, our representative will welcome you and organise the transfer to the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Elephant Plains Game Lodge accommodates a maximum of 22 guests, which ensures personal service and a warm, friendly atmosphere. The lodge is situated on the banks of the Manyeleti river offering unforgettable views of sunrise and sunset across the plain. Overnight at Elephant Plains Game Lodge on a fully inclusive basis in a standard chalet.

Days 3 to 5:

The day starts with an early morning game drive, then after breakfast a bush walk gives you the opportunity to learn about the smaller wonders of the veld. During the afternoon game drive you will stop at a carefully selected venue to enjoy a sun-downer whilst watching the sun set over the awe-inspiring wilderness, before continuing on a night drive using spotlights to look for nocturnal animals. Breakfast and lunch are served buffet style in the dining room and evening meals are served around a fire in the boma.

Day 6:

Check-out from Elephant Plains Game Lodge after a final game drive followed by breakfast. A transfer will take you back to Hoedspruit Airport where you will board your flight back to Johannesburg. Here you can board your flight back home to Atlanta / JFK Airport / Washington Dulles International Airport or continue your trip in South Africa with one of our add-on packages.

Visa Requirements

When visiting South Africa for a period of up to 90 days, travellers from Commonwealth countries, Japan, the USA and the European Union do not require a visa. Visitors who intend to work in South Africa must apply for a work permit abroad at the South African Consulate or Embassy. Before departing for South Africa, check with the nearest South African Consulate or Embassy for any possible changes regarding the visa requirements. Passports must carry a validity of 6 months beyond intended date of departure from South Africa. Note, Travellers should have a minimum of two blank pages in their passport to enable the entry visa to be issued. If there is insufficient space in the passport entry will be denied.
