Tour Details
Day 1:
Guests will be met by a representative at O.R. Tambo (Johannesburg) International Airport and transferred to their luxury accommodation in the Pilanesberg, surrounded by subtropical vegetation, tropical birds and water features.
A sophisticated and elegant hotel with its unique and relaxing atmosphere where each room faces onto the lush gardens. Lawns sweep down towards the Gary Player golf course. The hotel offers swimming pools, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, casino, and many more exciting facilities.
The rest of your day is at leisure to explore this magnificent complex. Whatever you desire, you’ll find it at Sun City. From sizzling entertainment, world-class casinos and restaurants that cater for all tastes, to the more relaxed poolside venues, quiet places, lush botanical gardens and extensive sporting facilities including the Valley of Waves and two world-class golf courses. These are just some of the elements that make this resort unique amongst the world’s entertainment resorts.
|
Day 2:
Early morning tee off at the world famous Gary Player Golf Course.
A magnificent golf course designed by the famous Gary Player, set in the beautiful surroundings of the Pilanesberg. This championship course has frequently hosted the Million Dollar Classic. From the back markers, the course measures over 7 000 metres which makes it one of the longest in the world. But a variety of tees make it possible to shorten the course and render playable for all levels of golfers. A distinguishing feature of the course is its greens complexes, with strategically placed bunkers, swales and mounds that protect the super slick clover shaped greens. With pristine perfect Kikuyu fairways and excellent bent grass greens the course is kept in perfect condition all year round.
The rest of your day is at leisure to explore this spectacular resort and its surrounding area’s.
|
Day 3:
Enjoy a game viewing spectacular, with possible sighting of the ‘Big 5’ (buffalo, lion, leopard, elephant and rhino).
A number of excellent game reserves have been established in the vicinity of Sun City and rewarding safari options are plentiful. Set in the crater of an extinct volcano, known as 'The Jewel of the North-West', the Pilanesberg Game Reserve is foremost among them. This is one of the few parks in Southern Africa that features almost all of the species which formerly occurred naturally in the region, including the 'Big Five'.
|
Day 4:
Have another go at playing a round of golf at the picturesque Lost City Golf Course
If golf courses were ranked solely on how spectacular and memorable they are, the Lost City Golf Course would come out on top more often than not. And no hole more so than the par-three 13th with its green shaped like the African continent, surrounded by pot bunkers and an enclosure to the front left that is home to over forty crocodiles and hundreds of miss-hit golf balls. The view of the hole from the elevated tee is unforgettable and one can understand why Gary Player sincerely believes he has created one of the top courses in the world at the Lost City, with its desert-style front nine and African bushveld closing nine.
|
Day 5:
After breakfast guests are collected and transferred to Lesedi for an educational and very interesting cultural village tour.
Get a true African welcome into the Lesedi Cultural Village where the Lesedi dancers take you to the heartbeat of Africa. This is where families from the Zulu warrior nation, the proud Xhosa, the warmhearted Pedi and the mountain-dwelling Basotho live in their traditional homesteads. The tour begins with a multi-visual theatre presentation depicting the history of South Africa. Proceed on a tour through the different villages, which ends at the boma with traditional dancing by each of the four families. Finish the tour with a traditional meal.
After the Lesedi Cultural Village Tour guests are transferred to Johannesburg International Airport for their flight back home or their further travels in South Africa.
